We’ve made a new compost toilet!

At last..their is now a new composting toilet in the lower field near to the 21 foot yurt and The Train Carriage.

Made from just off cuts of wood and curved rafters from the old train carriage, the new toilet quietly hides amongst the trees. The only thing that we had to buy for it were some hinge pins and a family toilet seat. It’s amazing what you can find when you start digging around a cluttered workshop!

We proudly hosted our first ever wedding this summer. It was a small and very beautiful celebration over an amazingly sunny September weekend. This was the first time we have had a wedding celebration at The Yurt Farm so there was a big sense of joy once the day was in full swing with the sun shining. Tom Holden did an amazing job with the catering, make sure you get in touch with him if you are planning anything a bit special.

The summer holidays seems like a million miles away now but we were lucky to have so many happy and fun guests that even the ‘moist’ weather didn’t stop everyone from running around, jumping on the rope swing, rock pooling, swimming, dolphin spotting. We lit up our pizza oven every week over the summer and cooked some awesome looking pizzas for everyone. If you are coming to stay or thinking of it then you must try out the oven. We didn’t realise when we built it quite how fun it would be to use and how flavoursome the food it cooked would be.
