Snowy days

Snowy barn

Our new barn is coming on well and is now watertight.  We’ve put vertical Larch cladding on the walls and this week have been putting corrugated tin on the roof.  I’ve been up to my local sawmill to saw up some timber so i can begin work on the windows.  It will be really nice to get some light back into the building.

Meanwhile, this is the time when we come out of our winter yurt hibernation and concentrate on getting everything ready for the new season so the barn will have to go on the back burner for a while! First thing is to get the wood shed full of dry wood from our wood stacks we have been seasoning for the last 2 years.  Sylvan enjoyed helping Thea and Zephyr fill the trailer.  It takes three loads to fill the shed so it has kept them busy for a few days.
