Summer has begun

sunset over yurt farm

With sun, thunderstorms, rain and hot evenings it feels like the summer has finally begun.  This is always a time when the yurt field comes to life as the fruit bushes start to bloom with currants and gooseberries and the trees are in full leaf.  If the children and birds don’t eat all of the berries we will hopefully make some jam from them later in the summer!

This year there are lots of gold finches flitting between the trees we have planted and the hedges.  Last night a pair or redstarts were playing leapfrog along the gate in the yurt field, their bright orangey feathers flashing in the evening sun.  A lovely sight.

We are mostly booked up for the summer now but if you would like to come and enjoy a bit of peace in the country (with the sea almost on your doorstep), we still have availability for September.  We have begun taking bookings for next year also
